Mikumi national park is one of the most renowned and prestigious National Park in Tanzania. This park has a total of 3230 square Kilometres (Sq - Km). It's available in Morogoro Region and was established in 1964
In the westen part, it's Located some 283 Kilometres [283 km] away from Dar es Salaam, it is also bordered to the north with Selous (Game Reserve) where the two area forming a unique Eco system. The park is crossed by Tanzania's A-7 High way, a road to Udzungwa reserve, Selous and Ruaha National Park on the way from Dar es Salaam to Iringa and Mbeya regions. 
The park also bordered with the Uluguru mountains national park. Most of  areas in this park characterized by  flooding and mountain ranges that are available within the park. 
The open spaces are the most spectacular in the floods and end up in the forests that cover the basin valleys around the park. In Mikumi national park there are big pride and coalitions of lions  which appear to be in their own empire and sometimes on top of the trees' branches  to avoid hydraulic when the rain made the soil so wet as the area contains a potter's soil. 
Larger crash of hippopotamus, monkeys troops, zebras, both Masai and Somali giraffe are available in this park. 
Many animals rush into the forest area during rainfall seasons where you can see them in the ramps of the mountains.
Also during rainfall season, a big flocks of birds increased in the park to more than 300 species. This is due to the fact that, in the meantime, there are flocks of migrants birds from European and Asian countries that join the locals one.
