The Masai Giraffe in Selous National park
The Selous National park (saluu) is the largest reserve in Tanzania, and is also among the world's largest animal parks. Its area is 54,600 km² within different regions including the coastal region,Morogoro, Lindi, Mtwara and Ruvuma region
The area is larger than 70 countries in the world, estimated to have the same area as Costa Rica (Central America) and about twice the size of Belgium.
 Since 1982 has been incorporated into the UNESCO World Heritage List.

The name is derived from British English man, Sir Frederick Selous who was a game hunter and early conservationist during the colonial establishment in South and East Africa and he was killed at Beho beho in Tanganyika (today Tanzania) as a military force during World War I in 1917 when fighting against Germans.
