The Mkomazi national park is located in two regions namely Kilimanjaro and Tanga, within Same and Lushoto districts in northern part of Tanzania. The Mkomazi Park was established in 1951 as game reserve hence upgraded to national park in 2006.
This park has 3234 Kilometres. It proposed as national reserve on grounds of rehabilitating the sites and resources contained in non-preservation use for today's and next generation. In this park there are a variety of animals and birds including wild dogs and black rhinos  imported from southern Africa.
